Swing By for Breakfast in Shenton Way

Category : Breakfast

I enjoy coming to work in town. The bus journey is faster, the food is better & the view is nicer. Recently the experience has also been enhanced as there are swings installed around the Raffles Place MRT by National Parks as part of their 50 years anniversary. So if there’s time & vacancy, I’ll swing around for a while before headed off to breakfast & work.

According to their website, it seems like the swings are part of their roving exhibition of nostalgic playsets of yesteryears. So the swings are only available for a limited time:

– Raffles Place Park (mid March to mid May)
– East Coast Park (June to end July)
– Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park (mid August to mid-October)
– Singapore Botanic Gardens (November to December)

Even though it’s stated that the swings at Raffles Place is only till mid May, it’s still there now in mid June. So if you’re working in Shenton Way & are interested to reminisce in your childhood playground, better be fast.

After starting my day on a good note, it’s time to level up by going for lard bee hoon at 108 Eating House in Clifford Centre. Highly recommended by my supervisor. Thumbs up

108 Eating House is a small shop opposite Han’s with a very long queue snaking towards Guardian in the morning. Its menu is very simple. Bee hoon or kway tiao for carbohydrates. Luncheon meat, fried beancurd, fish cake or fish fillet for sides.

If you love lard, you can request for more to be added onto your plate. Yes, lard. It’s definitely not for the health conscious folks. A plate of standard bee hoon with fish fillet costs S$2.60. A large plate of bee hoon without any side costs S$2.30.

It’s only open from Monday to Friday in the morning till they finish selling.

Hope you guys like the bee hoon. I’m off to work now~
