We have been frequenting李白Li Bai Cantonese Restaurant @ Sheraton Towers for their awesome Peking Duck SG60 S$60 promotion, when we saw their October Coffee Menu. I like the idea of deshelled crab, so we had Stuffed Crab Claw with Almond Flakes & Coffee Sauce 咖啡杏片百花蟹钳 @ S$38.

I never thought that I’ll dislike any of Li Bai Cantonese Restaurant’s creations. Sadly, this dish changed my mind…It definitely looked impressive & intricately executed.

But its thick coating to flesh ratio left me missing the sweetness of the crab. I also didn’t know whether to dip or skip the bitter coffee sauce 😓👎

Even though Li Bai Cantonese Restaurant’s Roe in the Golden Hour event officially starts in November, we were delighted to hear that they’re available earlier. This is the 1st time I’m having Hairy Crab though. Definitely not an expert, though game to try the legendary creaminess!

Here’s what’s available at Li Bai Cantonese Restaurant’s Roe in the Golden Hour for Hairy Crab fans 🦀

I wasn’t expecting a larger than usual Steamed Hairy Crab Xiao Long Bao 大闸蟹粉小笼包 @ S$28, the size of a dim sum steamer. Where? How to start? Occupied with tackling this dish, alas I forgot to capture the color of its soup 😆 Anyway, it was decent, though nothing mind-blowing. Not something I’ll order again. The vinegar was REALLY GOOD though!

We also had Li Bai Cantonese Restaurant’s Stewed Claypot Crystal Hor Fun with Hairy Crabmeat and Crab Roe 大闸蟹粉焖水晶河粉沙锅 @ S$98. I had high expectations because I love Li Bai’s Crystal Hor Fun with Crabmeat and Crab Roe 黄膏蟹焖水晶河粉. Let’s just say, I continue to love the original 😄
