Since I lamented about Ajumma’s Korean Restaurant replacing Curry Times @ Northpoint City, I better pay it a visit to see if it is a good change. Especially since I love Korean Food. In my blog’s previous life, my review of Joo Mak Korean Restaurant @ Beauty World has the highest views, appearing in the 1st page of Google Search.
Sadly, Joo Mak’s transition from a Korean cooked food restaurant to a Korean BBQ restaurant meant that the dishes we love, like their Military Soup, Korean Fried Chicken & Seafood pancake were no longer amazing. I guess their BBQ should be quite good since there’s a good number of Koreans dining at Joo Mak when we last visited, 3 years ago?
Anyway, back to Ajumma’s Korean Restaurant @ Northpoint City. We had originally planned to order Crispy Samgyeopsal with creamy scrambled eggs & Soy-Yuja sauce @ S$14.9, which is a hit with the family. However, we ended up with the noodle version: Crispy Samgyeopsal Kkal Guksu with Pork Bone Broth @ S$14.9 which was also nice 👍

Do note that there is 1 variable with this dish. Which is the pork belly. Your level of enjoyment is dependent on whether the pork belly served, has a good meat-fats proportion, or 80% fats 😆
Next up is a hard-to-go-wrong dish: Kimchi Ramyeon @ S$10.5 👍 I’m salivating just by looking at the photo. Love that onsen egg. Perfectly executed!

I love my rice. I used to eat 2 bowls of rice every meal, when I was younger. So of course, I have to order Ajumma’s Korean Restaurant’s Bibimbap @ S$12.9 👍 But something was missing as I dig into the dish. Where’s the chicken? 🤣

Ah, there you are. Served separately upon request 😂

Everytime I see Ginseng Chicken Stew, I’m always reminded of the best Ginseng Chicken Stew we had in Korea. Where a good friend brought us to, by train & cab. I wonder if that’s why I’m always disappointed. I know I won’t Ajumma’s Korean Restaurant’s Ginseng Chicken Stew @ S$20.9 again 👎

All the items above come with 4 refillable side dishes. Seaweed’s good. Kimchi’s not intense, most probably toned down to appeal to more people. Disappointed there’s no ikan bilis…🤷♀️

Last but not least, Ajumma’s Korean Restaurant’s spectacular Fluffy Steamed Eggs @S$6.9 👍😍 Just look at it rising up above the bowl that’s holding it together. Epic! And yummy.
