After a super heavy lunch at Sushi Zento, it’s time to take it easy at dinner. Souper Tang ran 2 different buy 1 get 1 free promotion when we visited. We had their Buy 1 Get 1 Free Premium Bird’s Nest previously. Hence decided to try their Buy 1 Buddha Jump Over the Wall 极品佛跳墙 get 1 Golden Fish Maw Soup 花胶金汤 Free @ RM89.9.
Actually, it is because I wanted to try the Golden Fish Maw Soup 花胶金汤 (again), to compare with their Imperial Seafood Thick Soup 海味烧羹汤 🤭 The 1st time I had the Golden Fish Maw Soup, it was paired with sediments-filled vinegar. And I wondered if it skewed the taste, negatively.
While Souper Tang’s (257) Golden Fish Maw Soup 花胶金汤 @ RM59.9 is nice, I prefer their (0062) Imperial Seafood Thick Soup 海味烧羹汤 1 人份 @ RM32.9. Good thing is it’s free! 👍
Their (276) Buddha Jump Over the Wall 至尊佛跳墙 @ RM89.9 is filled with 好料, but my partner prefers Souper Tang’s (135) Truffle Chicken Soup 黑松露鸡汤 @ RM33.9. I had a taste, and prefer their (0062) Imperial Seafood Thick Soup 海味烧羹汤 🤭
(1549) Braised Pork and Sesame Bun with Preserved Vegetables 梅干菜红烧肉芝麻包 @ RM36.9’s good for sharing. Especially after a super heavy lunch 👍
The portion size of (1419) Mee Suah with Dried Scallops & Abalone Slices 瑶柱鲍片溜面 @ RM26.9 is just nice too. Not too much 👍 Souper Tang sells a similar instant Superior X.O Sauce Mee Suah with Dried Scallop. Same same but different. Cannot compare with having the dish in-store.
The best part, dessert. (309) Brown Sugar Herbal Jelly 焦糖龟苓膏 @ RM10.9 is cooling for a hot day. I personally like the strong herbal taste in 龟苓膏, like that found in 單眼佬 Dan Yan Lao’s version. So, this tastes more like grass jelly to me. But it’s chilled, so all’s good 👍
