Another dish that wow-ed me was Tempura Moriawase J01 (Deep-fried Prawn, Fish & Assorted Vegetables in Batter) @ RM27 👍 The photo doesn’t do justice to its size. It’s HUGE!
I ordered this to pair with Cha Soba U10 (Cold Green Tea Noodles) @ RM20 👍, after experiencing a similar combination with Tempura Soba U05 (Soup Noodles with Deep-fried Prawn & Vegetables in Batter) @RM25 at our last visit to Sushi Zento. It’s good but I don’t dare to order again as it’s very filling (can’t eat/try other dishes).
Continuing on with another new dish: Chimi Kurobuta Steak SPA04 @ RM50 👍 This is on Sushi Zento’s seasonal menu. I wanted to order Sushi Zento’s Kurobuta Steak L04 (Pan Fried Iberico Pork Loin, Assorted Mushroom, with Garlic Butter Sauce @ RM48, but it wasn’t available. Sushi Zento’s Chimi Kurobuta Steak was mostly tender. Perhaps ~30% of the strips were tough. The green sauce is awesome though. And I had to add, when it comes to Iberico Pork, the best I’ve had is at Hot Tomato.
The final new dish of the day is Sushi Zento’s Ishikari Konabe S03 (Salmon Fish Head & Assorted Vegetables with Miso Soup in Hot Pot) @ RM39. Just look at the generous serving! I’m not sure whether to give it a thumbs up or down as, as usual, Genki Sushi’s Salmon Miso Soup is the best! Though Sushi Zento’s version also okay lah 🤭
