Besides Bak Chor Mee, another type of mee I love is Lor Mee. And it’s so darn hard to find a good bowl of this black gooey goodness. I still remember all the senses in my body light up when I 1st had the lor mee from downstairs. Childhood nostalgic~

And the thing is, lor mee is not as readily available as fishball noodles, pork noodles and wanton noodles. Hence, I’ll usually order lor mee if I see a stall selling it, until the disappointment piled up, and I stopped eventually.

My 1st encounter with 新美香正宗卤面 Xin Mei Xiang Zheng Zong Lor Mee was its long snaking L-shape queue. I didn’t pay much attention to what the stall was selling, till a friend shared it was Lor Mee. Interesting…

Years later, when someone suggested heading to Old Airport Road Food Centre to have lor mee for breakfast, how could I say no 😁 I’m beyond excited to try how good 新美香正宗卤面 Xin Mei Xiang Zheng Zong Lor Mee is.

Early 1 morning at 9:30am I find myself beating the queue to order 3 bowls of lor mee. Ta-da~ There was a good amount of ingredients but taste-wise…Let’s just say I never went back again, but my friends enjoyed it thoroughly. And the queue still exists.

Fast forward few years later, the craving for lor mee hit again. This time I find myself queuing at 香记卤面*炸酱面 Xiang Ji Lor Mee * Zha Jiang Mian. Boy is this good! 👍 Yummy yummy! Craving satisfied 🤩
